Over fifty people participated in the 2007 Beer Olympics, Rolling Barrel Events’ annual beer competition, held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Manayunk Brewery & Restaurant. Fourteen four-person teams competed in a pentathlon of knowledge and skill tests that included beer trivia, a blind beer tasting, beer pong, a flip cup/quarters relay, and an obstacle course. Each team selected a country to represent and was encouraged to dress up in their respective cultural garb for a shot at the highly coveted “Spirit Award.” In the end, Team France took home the gold, with Team England and Team Vatican City rounding out the top three. Team Vatican City also won the Spirit Award, narrowly defeating Team Germany’s buxom bevy of bräu haus beauties. Rolling Barrel Events would like to thank all participants, spectators, and staff that made this event possible. We look forward to doing it again in 2008!

Wineries Of The Brandywine – Tasting Tour (8.4.2007)

On August 8, 2007 Rolling Barrel founders Corey Krejcik and Matthew Mebert departed Mastonford Road Park & Ride in Conshohocken, PA with a group of twenty eager winos to explore three wineries amidst the Brandywine countryside (Chaddsford Winery, Kreutz Creek Vineyards, and Paradocx Vineyards) Around three o'clock the group stopped for a late lunch at Brandywine Prime, a new restaurant at the site of the recently restored Chadds Ford Inn. Part social outing, part educational experience, and all fun, tickets for the "Wineries of the Brandywine" Tasting Tour included coach bus transportation, tour and tasting fees at each winery, snacks and bottled water on the bus, lunch at Brandywine Prime, and a few other surprises along the way!
